Prizes to students

To inculcate reading habit among students prizes for best write-ups on books read by them during an academic year have been instituted. At least 10 students from each class should read a minimum of 10 books and do write-ups on them in a separate notebook to be maintained by the students for this purpose. To encourage other students, students getting prizes once will not be eligible for prizes again. The same notebook could be used even if they move to higher classes. Write-ups must be brief highlighting the important points or the new things they learnt from reading the book and the moral of the story. The entire story should not be repeated. Book review should not exceed one or two pages. Guidance from parents and siblings may be taken while writing these reviews. In course of time, writing reviews will improve their writing, comprehension and communication skills. Also, write-ups are conclusive proof of reading books.

Headmasters should submit recommendations for prizes in the prescribed Form along with 5 sample reviews, one from each class, copied by students from their Library notebooks in June or July of the next academic year.
