A.P. Govt. is giving tuition fee related scholarships to students pursuing higher education with parental income of less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. However, EBC students of intermediate course have been excluded from receiving this benefit. BREAD Society is, therefore, awarding regular scholarships to EBC students pursuing Intermediate course.

In addition, Govt. of A.P. is awarding monthly maintenance scholarships ranging from Rs.182/- to Rs.962/- to all except EBC students. BREAD Society firmly believes that all those pursuing education in govt. and aided high schools up to SSC belong to the same economic stratum of the society and hence is now awarding annual maintenance scholarships to eligible EBC students to bring them at par with others from govt. and aided high school background.

BREAD Society is also implementing the following additional programs to assist all students of merit complying with the criteria of BREAD scholarships. These new programs are aimed at augmenting the skills of the scholars to equip them to realize their full potential.

  1. Training in Soft Skills: Jawahar Knowledge Centres: To extend JKC training facility by reimbursing the full tuition fee to all BREAD scholars on successful completion of training.
  2. Coaching to pursue higher education: To extend coaching assistance for qualifying in various tests conducted for admission to pursue further higher education with financial support through re-imbursement.
  3. PRE-SSC coaching: In order to bring Govt. school children at par with those from private schools by the time they complete SSC, the Society provides coaching assistance on holidays in the schools to interested students by engaging private tutors to impart coaching simultaneously preparing them for Common Entrance Exam for Polytechnic (CEEP). BREAD Society will also render financial support to such initiatives either by individuals or organizations.
  4. Children’s Libraries in High Schools: In order to inculcate reading habit among children from an early stage, BREAD Society will sponsor Children’s Libraries in High schools with active cooperation of the Head Master and the Librarian/ teacher volunteering to take the responsibility to run the library with the backup of a local village volunteer.

School provided with Library will be given at least 20 tree seedlings by the BREAD Society to be nurtured by the students under the supervision of the teacher in-charge of the Library.
